Triangle Palm (Dypsis decaryi)

Madagascar

Of all landscape palms, the triangle palm is rather unique in appearance.  This is due to the triangular arrangement of its blue-green leaves and the brownish-red hairs that cover the leaf bases.

In dry summer regions such as Southern California and the Phoenix area deserts, triangle palms require regular irrigation.  The planting site should be well drained, and occasional fertilization is advised.

Best suited for tropical gardens, they will maintain best appearance if given afternoon shade or filtered sun.
